Jem Finer’s works – Speigelei Junior – were commissioned for the Queen Elizabeth II Olympic Park, in Stratford, East London.
The stainless steel spheres sit on adjustable legs, each sphere at a different height. The viewer is invited to stand under the spheres, with their head inside, where a 360˚ view of the park is projected onto the painted interior by the three lenses. It brings a new perspective and awareness of surroundings, by taking the images we know and changing our relationship with them.
Jem Finer worked in association with Parabola to bring these works to the park.
