MSS was commissioned to design and fabricate a rotary drum clock which would tell the time in hours and minutes. The clock was produced in powder-coated mild steel and aluminium with a polycarbonate face. The red calligraphic vinyl text on each drum reads as digits as the drums rotate behind the face. The drive mechanism is contained within each drum, and operated by a programmable logic controller connected to the drive units via the shaft which supports the drums, and around which they rotate. The unit is shipped complete and needs only to be plugged in and switched on.
