MSS were approached by R&G Builders to produce a skylight feature for a private residence in Belgravia.
We had to produce a skylight with no visible fixings, using mirror polished stainless steel for the visible frame. Behind the skylight are some programmable lighting features, so in order to maintain easy access acrylic rod was used instead of a solid sheet.
We fabricated the framework to hold these rods, then fitted the frames on site, whilst being very careful of the surroundings – which included a large contemporary chandelier. As the work was sited in a stairwell/entrance hall the framework was made in three pieces so it was possible to handle each section easily. A team from MSS then fitted each rod into the frame, completing the piece.
