Mike Smith Studio

Mike Smith Studio hand painted a fibreglass egg sculpture in high quality acrylic paints and coated it in matte laquer.

Using original artwork provided to us by Leyla Aliyeva, we re-invented the design to wrap around the 3D form of the egg.

The red flowers in the design are made with translucent red panels, each one heated and shaped to fit perfectly, and then bonded in and illuminated from inside the egg using a column of LEDs inserted through the stand.

Part of the ‘Fabergé Big Egg Hunt’ a charitable auction raising money for children in New York City and saving the endangered  Asian Elephant from extinction.
